Energy spectra of upward (blue) and downward (red) electrons within the loss cone for the six time intervals delimited in Fig. 1 and Table 2. The high energy portion (~>100 keV) only changes by about one order of magnitude over these time intervals, whereas the low energy portion (~<1 keV) varies by more than three orders of magnitude. The arrows indicate the characteristic energies. The light gray curves show the 1 count per accumulation level for JADE-E.
